VINEYARD BODEGAS BORDOY
Take an opportunity to fly and visit this unique earthy and idyllic little vineyard, by a helicopter. The friendly staff will guide you through their hectares of pride and explain everything about the heart and soul of their wine production.
Due to its location and the proximity of the sea, just 5km away, Bodegas Bordoy and the area surrounding it has an interesting variety of soil compositions. The chief winemaker Sergio Navarro states that 'the climate of this area has its own peculiarities. We are in the aridest part of the island, with very low rainfall and intense sunlight that is beneficial to the vines with lower yields but higher quality.’
Particularly ideal for the Cabernet Lovers, as Cabernet Sauvignon grapes account for the largest quantity amongst the vines out of an area of 20,6 hectares, separated into thirteen plots.
You will also find Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay, a small amount of Callet (a local red variety) as well as the native white varieties of Prensal Blanc and Giro Ros. Due to their commitment to local varieties, they also experiment with other grapes such as Gorgollassa.
